I. Introduction

Welcome to Mission Hills Church online. So glad to have you with us today for the second message in our amiright series where we're unpacking God's surprising secret to every relationship ever. If you were with us last week, you already know the secret...if not, let me catch you up real quick. It's found in Ephesians 5:21: submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. That's the surprising secret to every relationship, ever: submitting to one another.

Now, if you missed the message last week, I want to encourage you to go back sometime this week and listen to it because we did a couple of things that are really important. First, we talked about why that's the secret and second, we talked about why its such a hard secret to put to work in our relationships. ?A couple of reasons for that. First, we're all sinful and sin and submission are like oil and water. Second, there are a lot of misunderstandings out there about what submission actually means.

And there's probably no relationship where that's a bigger struggle than in the one we're going to talk about today and next weekend: marriage. And to help us weed out some of these misconceptions and get to the truth, I've asked my wife, Coletta to join me today. Coletta, thank you for being here. I really think your perspective will be helpful to all of us. In fact, let's just go ahead and dive into that with Ephesians 5:22...
