Nehemiah 2:10-20
Big Idea: When God calls, we answer, trusting in His person, promises and provision.
I. Introduction
This is Sanctity of Life weekend, and today we join with tens of thousands of other Bible-driven churches around the world in stating that we believe human life begins at conception and, from that moment forward, has inherent worth and value to God. Beyond that, because human beings are created as the image of God, human life from conception on is sacred and to be cherished and protected.
But we also believe that truth-speaking must always be accompanied by grace-offering. If you have made a decision that does not agree with God about the sanctity of human life, you need to hear that Jesus wants to drench you in grace, love and forgiveness. He wants to set you free from guilt. He wants to heal you. And we want to be His tongue, His hands and feet in this. We are all saved by grace and we would be the worst kind of hypocrites to heap judgment, shame and guilt on others when we have been the recipients of grace.
We have an extra-large number of counselors and prayer-partners available this weekend. If you need to talk to someone, please find one of them right now or after the service. Just look for the people wearing name tags or go to the welcome center and say ''I need to talk to someone.''
We also believe that God calls us to more than just an intellectual or verbal agreement with Him about the sanctity of life. We believe that God calls us to live out that belief with sacrificial love. And so we are partnering again this year with Alternatives Pregnancy Centers. [explain baby bottles]
