Series: All Is Bright

Matthew 5:14-16

I. Introduction

Welcome to Mission Hills. So glad to have you with us today. This is week number two of our All is Bright ?Christmas series.

What we're doing in this series is talking about how to obey something that Jesus commanded us to do. He said to all of his followers: ''You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. The Law of Contrast: When everything is dark, even a little light makes a big difference.

That was last week. This week we're going to tackle another big lie designed to keep us from shining, the lie of fear. Now you might say ''hey, fear isn't a lie. Fear is a very real thing. My doctor just gave me some bad news and I'm afraid. My kid is really struggling and I'm afraid. I just found out that my job might be ...
