1 Corinthians 12:15-27
I. Introduction
Welcome to all our locations. We are three weeks deep into our Equipted series where we're looking at the ways that God has equipped and gifted us to succeed in living on mission with Him. Here's what we know:
- God created and redeemed us for mission. The Garden of Eden wasn't a day spa and it wasn't a retreat center. It was a training center. God made the Garden and put Adam and Eve in it and basically said ''see what I've done here? You're going to do this out there.'' He redeemed us...not just from sin but for our mission. And he said ''Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.'' That's mission.
- Where God guides, He provides. God's not going to call us to do something he hasn't equipped us to do.
- God has equipped us with natural, learned and spiritual gifts. Natural gifts are abilities we were born with. Learned gifts are abilities we developed over time, through experience. Spiritual gifts, we saw last week are abilities that come to us when we put our faith in Jesus and the Holy Spirit comes into our lives. But, and this is really important, as we saw last week, a spiritual gift isn't just an ability we have...it's the main way that the Holy Spirit shows up through a believer. And every believer has one. If you missed last week - and especially if you missed last week and you don't know the main way the Holy Spirit shows up through you - you're going to want to go back and catch up on last week's content, because we talked about some very practical ways to go about discovering your spiritual gift or gifts.
Now, so far, we've talked about natural, learned and spiritual gifts, but there's a fourth way God equips us for our mission. There's a fourt ...
