Welcome to Mission Hills. So glad to have you with us today. Before we get into our content for today, let me just do a couple of things related to last weekend.

Last weekend was Compassion Weekend here at Mission Hills and you guys stepped it up! Last weekend, 444 kids got sponsored here at Mission Hills. I'm so, so proud of our church. That's an incredible display of mission-mindedness:

Because of our church 444 kids that weren't receiving food, clothing, medical care or the Gospel are now receiving food, clothing, medical care and the Gospel. That's amazing!

We also made the announcement last week that, because of your generosity, we're in a position as a church to partner with Compassion to sponsor a whole new church in Peru with a Compassion center attached to it.

And here's the incredible thing: so many of you are making choices like that - you're caring for kids in poverty, you're being generous with your finances, you're serving on one of our Serve teams, you're figuring out how to be on mission with Jesus in your families, your neighborhoods, your workplaces - you're making choices to live on mission and the incredible thing is, not only are doing good for others, you're doing good for yourself. Why is that? Because, as we learned last week: We experience our greatest good on-mission for God's glory.

If you missed that message, I want to encourage you to go back and catch up because that's such a foundational truth for understanding the book of Philippians. And it's one of the things that sets the stage for Paul to be able to say later in the book of Philippians that I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation... (Phi 4:12).
