Introduction

Welcome to Mission Hills. I'm really glad you're here because I'm really excited to be able to share this message today. We're in the midst of our Boundless series, working our way through the book of Philippians to discover the secret to living bigger than our circumstances or being content in any and every situation. I really believe that the message God has for us today has the potential to have a huge impact on your life.

But before I can get into that content, I have to make a confession: I have a three car garage. In theory, I can put three cars into my garage, but in practice, I can't put any of my cars in my garage. There's just too much stuff. Now, the stuff in my garage falls into three categories: some of it's good stuff. It's useful and it's usable. I need it and it's in good working shape. But some of it's usable but it's not useful. I mean, it's in good working shape, but I don't really have any use for it. For instance, I know that somewhere in one of the crates in my garage is a dial-up modem. It's in perfectly good condition, but I don't need it anymore. And some of the stuff isn't useful or usable. Like there's an old laptop that weighs 30 pounds and both the battery and the battery charger are broken. But I spent a lot of money on it at one point and it just feels wrong to just throw it away, you know?

And I was thinking the other day, what would it take for me to get rid of a lot of that stuff? And I thought, well, what if someone gave me a Tesla but said that it had to be delivered to my garage. That's a gift I would really like to accept...by the way, October is Pastor appreciation month, so...just throwing that out there. But if someone wanted to delver a Tesla to my garage, I wouldn't be able to accept.
