Consistent Christians (1 of 2)
Series: Don’t Come to Church, Be the Church
Craig Smith
Acts 2
I. Introduction
Welcome to all of our locations. I'm so glad you're with us today. Before we jump into the teaching for today, I want to take just a moment to celebrate something very cool that's happening this week, something that is happening because God has moved and his people have responded. Janice Cray lives in Glenrock, Wyoming and she's been part of Mission Hills for a while now, she joins us every week through our online campus, and recently she reached out to us and said she wanted to be on-mission with Jesus in her community, and she wondered if she could use our livestream to do church in her home and start inviting people from her community to be part of it. And we said ''uh...sure'' and a team here at Mission Hills started working on what it would look like to support people who wanted to do something like that and we kind of got it figured out, so this week, Janice is launching our first micro-site in Glenrock, Wyoming. So Janice, we love you and we're so proud of you for being on-mission with Jesus there in Glenrock.

So when I was growing up, my mom taught me this weird little thing where we would go ''here is the church and here is the steeple, open the door and see all the people.'' Anybody else? The church isn't a building with people inside it. The church is the people of God, on mission with Jesus. The church is not a building we come to, it's a mission we choose to part of as God's people. So we can't come to church, we can only come together as the church.
And that's what this two part series is about: what does it look like to be the church? Why don't you go ahead and grab a bibl ...
