Welcome to all of our locations. I'm Craig, the Lead Pastor here and I just want to say thank you for joining us for Easter Weekend here at Mission Hills. We're so glad you're here. Hey, at all of our locations, if you came here today to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus, can we just do that, can we just let loose with celebration?

You know, on any given weekend here in the United States about a hundred million people gather together for church. On Easter weekend that number typically doubles. And I've been asking people this week why that is. And the answers have been interesting.

- Some people are here today because they have faith. The resurrection of Jesus is the source of your confidence that God exists, that He cares and that He has plans for your life. You're here because you have faith.

- Some people are here today because they have family...maybe you promised mom or dad or your husband or your wife or your kids or grandma or whoever that you'd go to church this one weekend a year. You're here because you have family.

- Some people are here today because they have a tradition....this is just what you do on Easter. You give the kids an Easter basket, they get all amped up on sugar and then you drop them off with the nice people at the kids ministry and let them deal with them for an hour. Then you go home and have a nice dinner. You're here because you have a tradition.

There's lots of reasons we have for being here today. But whatever your reason, let me tell you something that might surprise you: We're not here because of something we have...we're here because of something we don't.

Specifically, we're here because we don't have a grave for Jesus. And if you think about it, that makes the Christian faith unique. It's the only religion that's not based on something we have but on something we don't. Think about it. Every other religion makes a big deal about where their founder is ...
