I. Introduction

Welcome to Mission Hills. However you're joining us today, we're glad you're here. I'm extra excited that you're with us today because today is special for two different reasons.

1. First, this is a baptism weekend, and we have a bunch of people who have asked to be baptized as a way of going public with their faith in Jesus. By the way, if you've given your life to Jesus and you haven't been baptized yet...today could still be the day for you. And let's just be clear: the standard Jesus calls us to here is unattainable...it's impossible...unless you understand what Jesus says at the very beginning of this section, before he gets into any of the specifics. If you have a bible with you, why don't you go ahead and turn with me to Matthew 5:17...

Jesus begins a section filled with radical sta ...
