What's Ahead? (3 of 8)

2 Corinthians 4:16-5:10

Happy Resurrection Day, Crossroads and our online guests! I so wish we could be together. For many of us, this is the first Easter Sunday that we've not been able to worship together in person. This past week, my oldest son, Joshua, told Lori and me that he's sad that he won't be able to worship with his church family for the first time in his life. Joshua is 23, which is relatively young. But there are some of us who haven't missed Easter Sunday in decades! So, this Sunday, it's very sad not to be together. Yet, we have much to be grateful for. Now, of course, I know articles like these are preposterous, but I like to read them. (I'm also a sucker for fitness infomercials even though I've never purchased any products.) Perhaps you prefer articles about food, homes, vacations, success, wealth, or relationships. The reason these kinds of headlines capture our attention is because there's something in me, and in you, that longs to escape from a discouraging reality.

Life can be discouraging even under the best of circumstances, but during COVID-19 life truly is discouraging. Maybe you're lonely and depressed. ...
