If you've got your Bibles with you now this morning, would you turn with me real quickly to the middle of your Bible? Psalms 100, if you will, today. Psalms 100, and let me just share with you what I really think is a simple but I pray will be a very encouraging message as we just pick back up in our series of studies from the book of Psalms that we've entitled Psalms That Sing. And, I really do pray and hope that you've been blessed by this very simple summer series. All right. Psalm 100, and I believe that most of you have heard this passage before. Maybe you heard it growing up in vacation Bible school or children's worship, something like that, kid's church back in those days, maybe you even committed to memory. But, what you have here in these five fabulous verses is, David is giving us some encouragement and telling us what a worship service ought to be like. And, I'm calling this morning's message The Heart of Worship.
And, what I want to do just over the next few minutes is, I want to just share with you from this totally amazing and really applicable Psalm, what you might call the essential elements or the necessary ingredients for an authentic, genuine worship service. We already hear a lot today about authentic worship and genuine worship. Well, David is telling us here what really has to take place if you're going to have a genuine worship service and authentic worship, and he tells us here about four little things that ought to take place when we gathered together in the house of God. And, my prayer as pastor here at Abilene is that these would take place every single time we gathered together in this place. All right. Psalm 100, if you've made your way there, say amen.
