Psalm 126
Speaker 1: As you are finding your way to Psalm 126, that's where we're at today. Psalm 126 today. As we are coming quickly to the conclusion of our series of studies for this summer from the Psalms that we've entitled Psalms That Sing, and this morning, we come to Psalm 126 and we're looking at a psalm, it's a missionary psalm and evangelism psalm, a psalm that ought to encourage us and give us a passion to be out there sharing our faith, sharing the gospel with every single person that we possibly come in contact with. Psalm 126 today and as you're finding your way there, I read this story this past week, a report if you will, in Baptist Press about a young man with a ponytail, if you will, in Iran by the name of Amir. Of course, that's not his name, they're protecting him, but Amir met a group of believers one night and met with them and during that little time together they gave him a copy of the gospel of John and he was so interested that he met with an evangelist later on that evening to learn more about what this book was about.
The next day, that same group of believers, they saw Amir on the street and he wanted another gospel of John to give to a friend and so he took the book and they watched him as he stood in a doorway and he opened up the book and began explain that book to a friend as they worked through the pages together. A little while later he came back to the group and he asked for some more books and he gathered some more friends all in the stream and they needed this message as well. And so Amir came back even later and asked for several more books to take home to give to friends and what the group of believers did not yet know was that Amir had accepted Christ as his Savior the night before while he was talking with that evangelist. He had been a believer for less than a day, but he was already sharing the gospel with his friends in Iran.
