Victorious Christian Living in a Dangerous Day

Psalm 91:1-6
Our nation has not often had to endure dangerous days. Normally we've only faced danger somewhere else and have had to go there to put ourselves in harm's way. Today's an exception. We face an enemy we can neither see nor touch, a simple virus has brought much destruction to our land.
It's not only hard to physically defend against this enemy it's far more difficult to deal with the emotional and spiritual pressures of the battle. For one thing, we might be living in the first days of a new normal and this new normal may require some lifestyle adjustments we won't be very comfortable with.
The good news is that our God can help us win the battle on both fronts. In fact, His help is one of the Bible's greatest promises!
Psalm 91:1-6 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, ''He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.'' 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN LIVING IN A DANGEROUS DAY ASSUMES A COMMITTED LIFESTYLE
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Victorious Christian living will never precede our commitment to an overt Christian lifestyle. In fact, a victorious Christian lifestyle grows from the root of that very commitment. The word ''dwells'' in verse 1 pictures our daily commitment to abiding in the Lord's fellowship. This is where victory in dangerous days comes from.
