Psalm 57:7 - ''My heart is fixed, 0 God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.''

Did you know that there is more emphasis on praise, in the Scripture, than on prayer?

This does not diminish the importance of prayer -but our praise is a vital part of our relationship to the Lord. God desires our praise.

Prayer is coming to God to carry something away. Praise is coming into God's presence and staying there.

There are some important reasons why we should praise our blessed Lord.

I. REVERANCE THE SAVIOUR

Psalm 145:10 - ''All thy works shall praise thee, 0 Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.''

The rocks, the trees, the rivers, the oceans, the stars, the sun, the moon - all of these give praise to God.

Everything that God has created was meant to give Him praise.

Revelation 4:8 - ''And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.''

Triune God - Father - Son - Holy Spirit - Beasts - ''living being'' they praise God day and night.

Can you imagine the millions of angelic beings praising the Lord? 

Revelation 5:11-14

'' I just don't like a big church!'' What are you going to do when you are placed in a choir with a hundred million?

Praise is the highest occupation of angels and the saints who arrive in glory. Praise reverences the Savior.

I. REVERENCE THE SAVIOR

II. RESIST SATAN

Satan fears our praise more than he fears our prayers.

II Chronicles 20:15 - ''And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.''
