Galatians 3:23-29

Message Truth: The Scripture declares that all men have been imprisoned by sin. However, it is from this prison that the way to freedom is revealed by faith alone in Jesus Christ. Today we will see how the Law led us to freedom in Christ.
Gal. 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed. 24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor {to lead us} to Christ, that we may be justified by faith. 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise.

With an afternoon free, we had to make an important decision. Did we want to play a round of golf at a local course or did we want to drive south to Palm Springs and visit some of the exquisite courses of that area? We opted for the latter, thinking that this would be a rare chance to at least visit some of the great courses on the west coast.
We arrived at Mission Hills Golf and Country Club and told the guard at the gate that we were visiting from Nashville and would simply like to have permission to come on the grounds and look around. Though it was not customary to do so, he graciously allowed us to do so. We were greeted warmly, looked around, admired the surroundings, obtained a souvenir, and went on to our next destination. We replayed that scenario ...
