Rhythms - Woship, work, rest, and relationships. These are essential elements to healthy living.
ILLUS. - Did you know Rhythm is an essential element to music? You can have rhythm without melody, but no melody without rhythm. Rhythm is essential to music.
This is bad news for me. I don't have good rhythm.
So rhythm is to music... as flour is to a cake, as clouds are to rain, as fuel is to a fire.
Similarly... worship, work, rest, and relationships are some of the essentials to a healthy life. -You can't live life as it is DESIGNED to be lived w/o health in these areas.?
Things in life sometimes knock us off rhythm. - We don't worship, or maybe work... or maybe rest... or maybe manage our relationships as we should... and life gets worrisome, tiring.
In you read Gen. 1 and 2, you will discover that worship, work, rest, relationships... they were all a part of human flourishing, healthy living BEFORE sin entered the world. Then after sin entered the world... they were all AFFECTED by the Fall. Worship. Work/Rest. Relationships.
But believers in Jesus know He restores us to God and makes us into a people who are pursuing God's will in all these rhythms. We are worshippers who love God and who want to glorify God in our work and rest... and want to love others as we love ourselves.
This current pandemic has sort of knocked our nation, even the world... off rhythm.
Systems- gov't, healthcare, job industry, economy. - All rocked. - Even churches.
Howe do we pursue healthy rhythms so as to flourish during this season.?
Today we are going to talk about the RHYTHM OF WORSHIP.
Ps. 95:1-11- Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! 2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! 3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. 4 In his hand are the depth ...
