Philippians 1:1-6

Phil. 1:1 Paul and Timothy, bond-servants of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, including the overseers and deacons: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Phil. 1:3 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, 4 always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, 5 in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now. 6 {For I am} confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Introduction: All of us are familiar with the words of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz as she declared, "there's no place like home." I can echo with sincerity those words. From a far more biblical perspective I can share in the words of Paul, I thank my God in all my remembrance of you. The past five weeks have been extremely important in my life. It has indeed been a time of renewal in multiple dimensions of my life. I felt that upon returning today it was very important to take the time to share with you something about the stewardship of the past five weeks of my life. Some of the events and experiences come under the category of defining moments in life. PERSONAL REFLECTIONS/ USE OF TIME
- Since leaving on August 4 I have spoken 11 times in four different states. I spoke to nearly 2500 at Ridgecrest Assembly for 4 days who were assembled for the purpose of leadership training.
- I spoke to a Pastor's Retreat in Indiana to a group of 50 pastors, most of whom were involved in small (even struggling) churches. During that visit I had the opportunity to visit an area where some of our folks were involved in mission work.
- On one Sunday evening I spoke to a very fine church in Wilson county going through many of the transitions we have experienced over the past decade.
- Last weekend I concluded by speaking to one of the six regional Sing ...
