The Alpha and Omega

Revelation 21:6-8
Revelation 21:6-8 -- '' And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. (8) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.''
Jesus is the A thru Z as we compare that to saying to the English alphabet as we know it.
I am always amazed at people who are more satisfied at practicing religion than they think they would be if they had a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus.
Somehow -- I believe that we have concluded that God is satisfied with our works and that somehow -- if we practice religion faithfully, if we engage our hearts in all the rituals of religion -- if we say the right things -- do the right things -- that God will be pleased and if God will be pleased, then that's the main issue.
You will never make your way to heaven by the practice of religion. The Bible says, ''By the works of the flesh is no man justified.'' No one will ever find eternal life by the simple practice of religion. Religion is man's attempt to get to God.
God, in His love and mercy and His grace, makes it possible for you and me to have a personal relationship with Him.
Do you have that kind of personal relationship?
The Alpha and Omega is the first and last letters of the Greek Alphabet.
I want to show you why it is necessary for you to know Jesus personally for your own self. It can't be something that your parents impart to you -- it can't be something a church builds into you -- you must know Christ personally as your Savior and Lord.
Let me give you three reasons why this is necessary for your life.
