Our Dependable Deliverer
Donald Cantrell
Psalm 46: 7
Psa 46:7 KJV - The LORD of hosts [is] with us; the God of Jacob [is] our refuge. Selah.
I - The Preeminent Power (7a)
II - The Precious Promise (7b)
III - The Prominent Person (7c)
IV - The Protective Place (7d)
V - The Proposed Pause (7e)
This sermon contains a fully alliterated outline, with sub-points.
I wrote this sermon to preach to our people as they struggle with Covid-19, which has brought fear and heartache upon the world. We are battling an enemy that is unseen, it is not wearing the uniform of a foreign nation, it is not shoot ammo from an assault weapon, but it is slowly and steadily working its way throughout the world and bringing nations to its knees.
There is hope and there is help. The Lord of Hosts is with us and the God of Jacob, he is our refuge and our stronghold.
Selah. Stop. Pause, Allow for an interruption and give this verse some thought, it will be okay, this will pass, and ''Our God'' will see us through this!!!
Theme: ''Jesus is our hope and helper in a time of need''
He Will Cover Us
Rhonda Crosswhite, a sixth-grade teacher at the Plaza Towers Elementary School, shielded three kids with her own body, shouting over the roaring twister that everything would be okay as debris pelted her back. ''It just started coming down so I just lay on top of some of them,'' she said on NBC's ''Today.'' ''One of my little boys kept saying, 'I love you! I love you! Please don't die with me,''' Crosswhite, 44, said, still breathless the morning after the storm.
One of the students Crosswhite shielded, fourth-grader Damian Britton, said the tornado ''sounded like a train coming by.'' ''A teacher covered us - Ms. Crosswhite,'' Damian said on the show. ''I told her we were fine because we were holding onto something. Then she went over to my friend Antonio and covered him. So she saved our lives.''
