This Means War (3 of 4)
Series: Prayer
Lenny Ports
Psalm 139:13
The term “This Means War” is a vow of anger towards someone, suggesting revenge is now sought. From the moment a person gives their heart to Jesus in full surrender, the devil is offended and immediately declares the beginning of an all-out war. His battle is against you and the LIFE that now lives inside of you.
Around our nation, churches are recognizing today as Sanctity of Life Sunday. A day of remembering that ALL LIFE IS SACRED. The word sanctity means: the quality or state of being valuable. Every human life has value – born and unborn. God places a high value on each of us who have been made in the image of God. It’s no coincidence that God has us in a 21-day period of prayer and fasting as a church at this time. Not only do we need to pray for the lives of innocent babies, but we need to pray for this gun rally that is happening tomorrow in downtown Richmond. The Governor of Virginia Ralph Northam has declared a state of emergency in anticipation of a rally on Monday that is expected to bring thousands of Second Amendment activists to Richmond. This rally will bring together both those that support gun rights and those that oppose them. We need to pray. Both events, Sanctity of Life Sunday and the Gun Rally on Monday have similar prayer needs – the saving of lives. No matter which side of the argument you are on, we must pray for the sanctity of life.
Psalm 139:13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
