Isaiah 58:8
Over the past 14 days many of us have postured ourselves in prayer and consecration. Again, consecration is merely setting ourselves apart from the routine and the noise to find time to pray. When it includes some form of fasting, it becomes even more powerful. As we enter week 3 of our 21-day prayer and fasting time as a church, we want you to hold onto that hopeful expectation of God coming through in your life. We all need a BREAKTHROUGH in some area or another and God already promised us that He would breakthrough on our behalf. Here is your promise from the ''fasting chapter'' Isaiah 58. This is what you can expect when you have given yourselves to the Lord in fasting.
Isaiah 58:8 (NRS) Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; your vindicator shall go before you, the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
This means there will be a break of light through the dark places in your life, those areas where there seems to be no hope - it could be a situation in your home that hasn't changed for the better, or a personal struggle that is a constant reminder of your inability to overcome it, or it could be an addiction or a soul tie that pushes you away from God. This promise says that your healing will spring up quickly, like a flower that springs up quickly from the ground, your body and your soul will come into wholeness. Then it says that your vindicator (who is the Lord Jesus) will go before you. You will have such a sense of the Lord leading you and vindicating you in matters where you were judged or accused falsely, and He will keep you safe going forward. The promise also shows us that just as the children of Israel were led forth out of Egypt, they were protected from Pharoah's army behind them, so your God is protecting you from the unexpected and undetected attacks of the enemy.
