Faithfulness is born in the heart of those that have a relationship with the faithful God.
Today as we walk through this story I want to show you 4 principles for a life of unshakable devotion from Daniel's story. And we will see ultimately how this story points us to the chief motivation factor for a life of devotion to God... the God that is devoted to His people.
Daniel 6:1-28- It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom 120 satraps, to be throughout the whole kingdom; 2 and over them three high officials, of whom Daniel was one, to whom these satraps should give the other high officials and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
At this point the Medo-Persians have taken over Babylon. Daniel is now most likely in his 80s. He finds himself with new government, a new boss. A lot of change for a man at his stage in life.
This Darius is most likely it seems either one who has been appointed by Cyrus to rule over this area as his representative or perhaps it is another name for Cyrus himself as some have contended. There are a few possibilities here of which it is hard to be sure.
The big picture here is to see that Daniel once again stand out. - New government same story. Daniel stands out as a man of character and integrity. He's just different and he rise ...
