Nobody ever wakes up in the morning and says, ''Today, I think I'm going to become irate... I'm going to get sooo mad that my face is going to turn red and the veins in my neck are going to pop out!''
Nobody ever plans to become angry... but anger is an emotion that we all experience.
You know what I've learned about anger? ... Our circumstances can LEAD US to becoming angry, but Our circumstances can't MAKE us angry. Anger is a CHOICE.
Anger is an internal reaction that is perceived to have an external cause. And if you notice, angry people almost always blame their reactions and emotions on somebody else or something else.
Rarely does an angry person realize that their anger is based on an irrational perception of the world. Think about that... at the root of our anger is a skewed perception of reality.
And when anger distorts our reality, we can't rationalize, comprehend or make good decisions because that distortion leads us into blind emotion...
And that leads us to the inability to think clearly and our emotions then take control of our actions.
Anger makes us believe that there are only 2 options (1) Defend or (2) Attack.
And when you live your life like that, with that kind of anger in your heart, you find yourself in a cage, unable to experience freedom and unable to live the life God designed you live.
God's word talks about the cage of anger. In [Ephesians 4:31] Paul says, 31 Let all bitterness, anger and wrath, shouting and slander be removed from you, along with all malice.
