Jesus was pretty clear in Luke 6:27, when he told us to love our enemies. In fact, He said that people would know if we were truly His disciples by the way we love one another (John 13:35). He called us to love... and yet, it seems like we're surrounded by hate.

Have you watched the news lately? It seems like every channel... every story is about some kind of conflict.

There's bad blood between Democrats and Republicans. There's even internal conflict within these individual parties.

We're seeing mistreatment between black and blue. Both sides have a position to defend. We're seeing misunderstanding between black people and white people. Sometimes it seems like we'll never come together as one.

It's conflict. And let me tell you what conflict is... Conflict is the result of mistreatment, pain, and disappointment... That's where conflict begins... but listen... Conflict leads to separation.

So, when you mistreat me... when you cause me and my family pain... when you continually disappoint me, at that point, I am opposed to you... I am against you... and a natural separation takes place.

That's what we're seeing in the world. It's not a world of people coming together. It's a world where people are being torn apart at the seams. That's how the world responds to mistreatment... pain... disappointment.

But can I tell you... that's not how God expects us as the Church to respond. That's not how he expects His kids to respond when people mistreat us. No. It says in 2 Corinthians 5:18 that He, ''has given us the ministry of reconciliation.''

Read that with me. 2 Corinthians 5:17-19: ''17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come! 18 Everything is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us ...
