Today we continue w/ week 3 of Unshakable. Today we are going to talk about Unshakable Faith. Let me ask you... have you ever had you faith rattled? Shaken up? Life can make you think straight lines are curvy, it can make clear things feel fuzzy. ?
ILLUS. - I love sports and the spectacle of big time sports. It's amazing to me how a QB can stand in the pocket and deliver a perfect throw with millions watching with the game on the line in a Super Bowl. OR how a pitcher can throw a shut out in the WS with the best hitters in the world staring him down. OR how a weary basketball player can pull it together and hit the game winner at the end of an exhausting overtime game. It's amazing to me how a pro golfer with millions on the line can hit a 5 iron over water on to a tiny green and drain a 6 foot. - BUT sometimes... these thing don't happen. You can tell that QB ... he has a look in his eye... he's about to throw an INT... that pitcher is about to get shelled... that basketball player is out of gas... and that golfer has been leaking air since the 12 hole. - Sometimes even the best get RATTLED... they get shaken... and they falter. Why does this happen? Pro sports are hard! Peope are fallible. People get shaken up.
Friends... you gained 3 enemies at conversion... the world, the flesh and devil... and the devil hates you and wants your faith to fail. The world is pressuring you to just give up and go along with it. And your flesh is weak. - So how do we stand with unshakeable faith in a broken, sinful world? How do we live out our faith with boldness and courage? How do we stand up against the onslaught of spiritual attack... and live for King Jesus amidst the kingdoms of this world?
