We don't like to ask things of people. We don't want to inconvenience people. Well, some people don't mind... you are the people everybody else runs and hides from. Well when you really boil prayer down a big part of it is simply asking things of God. We have not because we ask not... and then sometimes we don't get what we ask for because we ask with wrong motives. Asking is a big part of prayer.
We have seen the last few weeks that prayer is always for the Christian in the context of our Father and child. We shouldn't pray trying to use or manipulate God, but rather we pray to Him as our Father. Our Father is great so we pray that His name would be hallowed, His Kingdom would come, and His will would be done... and our Father is good so we ask Him to provide for, forgive, and protect us because we desire to live holy lives that make much of His great name. So today I want to talk about how we go about asking...
We are going to see this morning that Jesus teaches I believe that we should ask with BOLD PERSISTENT EXPECTATION. - Believers as children of God are invited and expected to pray to their Father with BOLD PERSISTENT EXPECTATION. - As we go through this text this morning I want you to be pondering these questions...
