I'm a TREKKIE! Does everyone know what that is? In the movie, the Wrath of Khon, there was a ''Genesis Device''. This device re-ordered matter at the cellular level and created new life. I find Star Trek entertaining with a little humor. The question was asked, ''What if this device was deployed where present life exists?'' Mr. Spock said, ''Then that life would give way to the new matrix.'' When I thought about this, this is exactly the work of the Gospel of Christ. Instead of the ''Genesis Effect'' it is the ''Gospel Effect'' and it changes everything it touches. We'll see this in Romans 1.

The Apostle Paul clearly understood this ''Gospel Effect.'' Before the Damascus Road, his life statement might have been to be the best Pharisee he could be, to kill Christians, and close churches. After his Damascus Road Experience, he wanted to start more churches than anyone, make more disciples than anyone, and tell more people about Christ! Why? Because his life had CHANGED! His purpose, motivation, drive, everything was changed. This is the Gospel Effect. It changes us from the inside out. Jesus changes us from the inside out! Saul's change was so dramatic that his NAME!! Jesus does that! Four time in the bible, we see it; Abram to Abraham, Jacob to Israel, Simon to Peter, and Saul to Paul. Change is the ''M O'' for the gospel. For someone to say that they have trusted Jesus and embraced the gospel, but their life has not changed, is anti-Bible.

The gospel is the good news and the good news is Jesus, and Jesus gave himself as a ramson for you, and He invites you to be changed by Him.

For some, this could be a first-time change. For others, it could be renewal.

It Is Personal - Verse 16 begins, ''I am not ashamed of the gospel.'' That phrase is loaded with very personal truths. Consider some of those:
