Ephesians 6:1-8

Pray with me. "Father, we praise you and bless you for that amazing grace; it never gets old, the story, the reality, the truth. How we need it, Lord, to renew us and refurbish us, because a lot of it is taken from the world we live in. We thank you that you renew it every day. Thank you that you saved us by grace, you keep us by grace, you renew us by grace. One day we'll sing that story, by grace were we saved, not of our works lest any of us should boast, but by faith in Jesus and by that amazing grace. Thank you, Father, for meeting with us, my gracious Lord, to hear Your word. Apply it to our lives, the practical realities of our lives, that the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer. In Jesus' name. Amen."
Carl Zimmerman of Harvard University said that there have been three violent crises in the American family and he said two of them have already taken place and the third one is about to take place. The first manifestation was in the Roman family, then the Greek family. Then he said the third violent manifestation of crisis in the family is facing Western civilization in the American family. He said the Greeks and the Romans succumbed to the breakup of the family. It all remains to be seen if America will survive the crisis of the family. God considers the family to be very important. This morning in the Old Testament and the New Testament I want us to see something that's very
important to keeping the family strong.
Open your Bibles to the Book of Ephesians 6:1-3.
1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right
2. Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise.),
3. That it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.
