1 Corinthians 12:12-31

In chapters 12-14 Paul is dealing with spiritual gifts. In our last lesson, we talked about ''Serving in the Spirit.'' And the Lord has used that sermon to bring a number of new workers forward in His church. That's the power of the Word.

Last time the Spirit of God reminded us that all Christians have received a gift from God...a Divine enablement to serve Jesus. Here in the last part of 1 Corinthians chapter 12, Paul continues the theme of spiritual gifts and compares the church to a physical body. 2 Peter 2:24 - Christ bore our sins in His body on the tree

He touched the lepers with His hands.
He saw the lost multitude with His eyes.
He heard the cry of Bartimaeus with His ears.
He preached the gospel with His mouth.
Everything that Jesus accomplished for our redemption happened in a physical body.

Without a physical body, He could not have:
Lived a perfect life
Died a voluntary death, or
Rose a ...
