From the birth of the church until now, the message of Christianity has been simple: Jesus came to the world and died as a substitute and sacrifice for sinners AND that this truth was confirmed by the greatest event of all time. The PHYSICAL, BODILY resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

We've been in a 4-part mini-series talking about Jesus being DEAD, BURIED, RAISED, and SEEN. Next week, is SEEN, and we'll be examining evidence of the resurrection.

''That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures and that He was buried and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.''

Acts 1 says Jesus appeared for 40 days with many irrefutable, or convincing, proofs. I want to give you some today. Some historical, logical, and Biblical reasons to believe ''and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.''

1. The truth about His resurrection (And that He rose again)

John Locke, the famous British philosopher, said, ''Our Savior's resurrection is truly of great importance in Christianity. So great that His being or not being the Messiah stands or falls with it.''

There are only 2 options.
Either Christ was not raised from the dead or He was.
No resurrection = No hope
Resurrection = Eternal hope

No resurrection = Jesus was a fake, a fraud, and a phony.
Resurrection = He was who He said He was. King, Lord, God.

Paul is convinced, as am I, that these are the only 2 alternatives. Receive it or reject it. Believe it or belittle it. The doctrine of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is so fundamentally important to the gospel that NO PERSON having heard of it, can be ambivalent or wishy-washy about it.
