I Corinthians 16:1-4
Joke: In the midst of the new trend AGAINST VACCINATIONS, there is a terrible, terrible disease running rampant in churches across America. This dreaded disease causes near paralysis of the hand when the offering plate comes near. When someone begins to write a check to the church, the disease immediately manifest, bringing symptoms of severe and crippling arthritis.
Thumbs that have tweeted, texted, and Instagrammed all week are rendered almost immovable at the thought of online giving. And the ''text to give'' function causes side effects that are not nice to mention in polite company.
This awful condition has also been known to cause a temporary paralysis of facial muscles whenever the pastor preaches about money. Therefore, many congregants are suddenly smitten with an inability to smile or laugh.
In addition, this malady can even cause temporary laryngitis. When the preacher announces that he is preaching about giving, many afflicted church members are instantly rendered unable to say, ''Amen.''

The prescription for this problem is found in 1 Corinthians 16 and in answering a few questions about the offering.

Parents know that kids always ask ''Why?'' God's children are no different.
