Love Loud
Scott Maze
Matthew 5:16
Today, our two campuses will turn up the volume on God's love. In the moments to come, you will scatter to elementary schools, fire stations, police stations, single parent homes, and the disabled as well elderly homes to demonstrate Christ's amazing love. As you go today, remember this: You are living proof of a loving God for a watching world. Some of you will sweat profusely and your clothes will get dirty. All of this because you are living proof of a loving God for a watching world.
The Bible is filled with encouragement toward showing compassion toward outsiders.
''In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven'' (Matthew 5:16).
''...if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.'' 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good'' (Romans 12:20b-21).
''And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. 10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith'' (Galatians 6:9-10).
''As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good'' (2 Thessalonians 3:13).
''As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. 18 They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life'' (1 Timothy 6:17-19).
''but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect...'' (1 Peter 3:15).
