Good AM! Today Pastor Craig and I are starting a 4-week series on the family entitled - Fight! Our prayer and intent is to offer our families sound Biblical instruction to help us fight for our families instead of w/ them.
Let's be honest, the family today (possibly even your family) is under great assault. In fact, recent statistics paint a grim picture as more homes appear to be in distress than they are healthy as many families at best are walking around bloodied and dazed while too many families are throwing in the towel.
Yet your marriage/family are worth fighting for instead of against - and it begins w/ doing marriage/family God's way.
As I get started - let me remind all of us that there's no such thing as a perfect person or family. This is critical to grasp b/c your family is going to get knocked down - it's going to take a few hits - and how you respond will determine if you can get back up before the 10-count.
And if you're here today and your family was knocked out - I'm so very sorry! It's my prayer God will do a great work in/through your life in this series to encourage/grow you.
As I was prepping this week I came across something I found interesting regarding knockouts. Did you know there are (3) different experiences when a boxer gets knocked out?
FLASH KO - occurs when a fighter takes a shot that stuns them but doesn't take them off their feet. They're hit hard enough their brain is rattled, the body is jarred - which causes the fighter to experience a quick reboot losing memory of what just happened - they got their ''bell'' rung.
STUNNED KO - occurs when a fighter gets tagged so hard they're out while still walking around. The effect is such the person appears drunk. Their speech is slurred and they have no sense of where they are or what has happened. This is known as being ''rocked'' or doing the ''Chicken ...
