Comfortable. Who doesn't love to relax in their recliner after a long hard day? Who hasn't heard to cry of the couch singing Sinatra, ''Come lie on me...?'' Comfortable - isn't that one of the tenets of the American dream? Isn't the goal of life to work hard enough to get enough so you can one day say I've had enough?

Here the thing - God doesn't frown on our possessions so long as they don't possess us - But as followers of Christ, if we have a greater desire for earthly COMFORT than we have for eternal CAUSES, then our comfort will take priority over our commission.

As American Christians w/ access to the comforts of a western world, it's vital we're reminded of the privilege we have of serving God. It's vital we never forget that our purpose for existence isn't for ourselves but for God.

God wants us to thrive in our relationship w/ Him. He wants our lives to count for His glory. He isn't looking for perfect people, but devoted disciples who'll reflect His character and allow Him to live in/through them But there's (1) thing that keeps getting in the way - ourselves.

Did you know that at the heart of the G.C., Jesus is calling His people to a mission greater than themselves. Jesus says there is but ONE thing that matters and we must keep our eye on the prize.

In our text today, we find more than a directive to make disciple, we discover the five marks of a disciple.

The disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.
