Would You Look at That?

Mark 15:40-16:14
Some believers criticize the celebration of Easter. They say it is inappropriate because for NT Christians, every day is a celebration of the resurrection. That is certainly true. But it is also true that I love my wife every day. But 1x per year we have something called an ''anniversary.''
Joke: A man traveled with his wife and his mother-in-law to the Holy Land. While there, the mother-in-law died. The funeral director said they could bury her there in Jerusalem for $250 but shipping her body back to the USA would cost $10,000. He said, ''Ship her home.'' When asked why he said, ''I heard about a man named Jesus who got buried in Jerusalem one time and He came back from the dead!''

It is so central that the apostles always included it in their sermons and in their witnessing.
Acts 2:23-24 (Pentecost) - ''This man (Jesus) delivered over to you by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.''
Acts 3:14-15 (Portico of Solomon) - ''But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you but put to death the Prince of Life, the One whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are all witnesses.''
As we move through this text, notice with me the number of words that speak of ''looking'' or ''seeing.'' As you look at what they saw, I pray you will see the same four things.
1. They saw for a fact He had died on the cross (15:40-45)
