I believe God wants His people, His church to flourish this morning. He has a plan for you, for us. He's got things He doesn't want us to miss. I--- Pray.
In the Bible many times the people of God are referred to as SHEEP. A group of sheep is a flock, the church is the flock of God. We have a Good Shepherd named Jesus, and He has called under-shepherds to help care for and lead His flock called pastors... and its God's desire that His flock flourish in this hostile world. So how does the church function in light of the trials, temptations, and attacks we face? How do we do battle in this war zone? How does the flock of God flourish in this hostile world? Leadership, Humility, and Sober Resistance against our enemy.

God's Flock Needs LEADERSHIP
1 Peter 5:1- So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed:
Peter has just been talking about how judgment begins with God's people. He used imagery from Ezekiel 9 and Malachi 3. He now immediately addresses the elders in the church likely because if judgment begins with the church in the church the leaders are on the front lines.
God is a God of order. We do not get to decide how to organize Christ's church. Every NT church is to be led by God called and equipped Elders/Pastors if it wants to function biblically.
So who are the ELDERS? Is he talking to the Senior Adult ministry? Is he talking only to Presbyterian churches? No.
There are two offices in the local church that are given in the New Testament. Pastors and Deacons. (Usually speaks to a PLURALITY of elders)
