Imagine with me that you and I are scavenging around on a deserted beach. You see something shiny under the sand - something with the appearance of dull brass. You grab it and pull it from the sand and in the process of trying to find out what this object is - out pops a genie from the lantern. The genie appears like all good genies should - with arms folded and hovering mid-air. This genie asks you a question, but it's not the question you think he's going to ask you. Instead of three wishes, this genie grants you only one request: ''Of anyone who has ever lived, I will have them appear before you for one evening. You will have an audience with anyone you wish for one evening. Who will it be?'' Who would you pick? I ask you this question to several of you this week. And you had some surprising responses. One person said, ''My first choice would be Jesus second would be one my grandfathers, I never got to meet either one they both died before I was born.'' Another person said, they wanted to eat with Benjamin Franklin. ''Anyone who could get the face on a $100 bill, I would like to know his secret!''

Another person said, ''How exciting to think of all the people throughout history that one might actually spend an evening with. Small potatoes like me start to think of royalty like Cleopatra and Queen Victoria. Then of course the conquerors like Alexander The Great or Napolean, modern day Hitlers, Mother Teresa and even Elvis. But of all the Queens, Caesars, Conquerors and Stars that has come before us, none has had the lasting influence on mankind as that poor carpenter from Nazareth. When its all said, all done and filtered, His is the only truth and work that survives. Wouldn't we all tremble to be in his physical presence to hear that voice, feel that warmth and know that secure peace.''
