4 Hear, 0 Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is
one.
5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with all your strength.
6 These commandments that I give you today are to
be upon your hearts.
7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them
when you sit at home and when you walk along the
road, when you lie down and when you get up.
8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them
on your foreheads.
9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and
on your gates.
The Wall Street Journal had a very interesting article
recently. In that article, the writer talks about the family
coming back. The article went on to say, that you seem to see
nowadays more pregnant women, more women deciding they will
stay home and not work out in the world; a kind of a return to
the "traditional" family. The first part of the article is
very encouraging, but as you read on it says that maybe it's
not all that it seems to be. It may be just a temporary lull
in a tremendous change that has been taking place in the
American family for the last 25 years. The article goes on to
relate that one man has put it this way: "When you're seeing
more than half of the women in America working, who have
pre-school children, when you're seeing nearly as many carrying
children out of wedlock as those that are married, we cannot be
expected to return to the norm. The full implication of what
has happened to the American family has not yet dawned on most
Americans." It went on to say, "What some people think is
normal is 75 percent abnormal today in the American practice."
