What keeps a person from trusting Jesus as their Savior? 1. Accomplishments - all that they had done in their life. 2. Independence - they don't need or want someone's help. 3. Pride - they don't want to admit they have sinned. 4. Unbelief - they don't believe Jesus died for them. 5. Wealth - they don't need Jesus because they are content.

Luke 19:10 Jesus said, ''The Son of Man came to seek and to save those who were lost.'' But they have to accept the forgiveness he offers because he will never force anyone to believe in him.
RICH MAN :1-2 Jericho - was located on the Jordan River and anyone traveling from east of the river to Jerusalem had to pass through it. It had great palm trees and world-famous balsam groves which gave off a perfume smell for miles. The resin from the balsam trees was prized for its healing ability and was also used in cosmetics.
It was called, ''The city of Palms'' and was a very beautiful area where the wealthy came to vacation because of the climate. It was a large city and there may have been as many as 100,000 living in the area. Romans took its dates and balsam around the world to trade. All of this combined to make Jericho one of the greatest areas for collecting taxes in the country of Israel.
:2 Zacchaeus - Gk. innocent or pure. His parents had given him that name hoping that he would live a pure and righteous life walking in the ways of the God of Israel.
Chief tax collector - superintendent of the local tax collectors. Rich - wealthy as a result of reaping a percentage of all the taxes which were collected in the area around Jericho.
