Merry Christmas! This is the last Sunday before Christmas Day so in a since it's Christmas Sunday. If you are a guest today welcome. Whether you are a regular attender, a 2 or 3rd timer, or this is your first time here... welcome. Maybe you are at church for the first time in a long time or for the first time period... welcome. We are honored that you chose to spend some time with us today as we celebrate Christmas and study God's Word, the Bible.
I love Christmas. I love the smell of Christmas trees. I love Eggnog. I love lights on houses. I love it. Now I know that some don't, for some there can be some painful memories tied to this time of year, and that is incredibly unfortunate. For some people Christmas is a depressing time of year. But I don't want it to be that for you, me, or anyone. For Christians, at Christmas, we are celebrate Christ, specifically His birth. It's about more than just His birth though...
Now this morning we are going to look at the story of the wise men. Matthew has shown us that Jesus is the rightful heir to the throne of David. He is King. That was the genealogy. He has shown us how he came into the world, virgin birth... why he came... to save us... who He is... Immanuel God with us.. the God-man. Now we are going to see how people respond to the King.

Matthew 2:1-2- Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, ''Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.''
Bethlehem- It was a small town, not deemed significant. It was not NYC, it was more like Christmas, FL or Cherokee, AL. Small town. Not a lot happening... except that the Son of God Jesus was born there.
The Wise men- Now who are these guys have come to worship Jesus?
Who were they? The Bible ne ...
