Hosea 11-13

Intro/Attention

Open your Bibles to Hosea 11-13. We're in a series on Sunday mornings through the Book of Hosea. I'm calling this series, Boundless: God's relentless love. Hosea is preaching to the unfaithful people of God and reminding them that God has always been faithful to them. The last part of this book depicts Hosea preaching several sermons to the people of Israel.

Hosea uses multiple images, pictures, and analogies to illustrate God's love and faithfulness. We've seen that Hosea's life was a painful action sermon that God called him to live out. He married an unfaithful woman, pursued her to the depths of her despair, and purchased her out of slavery. We've also seen a picture of a courtroom where God's people stand accused and God is the righteous judge. There are multiple other pictures throughout this book, but one of the main ones is that of A Father and His Children. That's the subject of the sermon this morning, A Father and His Children. READ 11:1-4, 7-9; 12:2-6; 13:4-8, 13

When Nemo was still a baby, his mother died while protecting him from a very dangerous fish. She gave her life so he could live. Nemo's father loved him very much. He watched over Nemo and protected him. But one day Nemo disobeyed his father and swam beyond the reef. He was suddenly scooped up by a diver and ...
