It won't be long before the Christmas season is upon us in full swing. That means Christmas decorations, songs, shopping and programming. Christmas programming means Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. That little Christmas special has been running since 1964 making it the longest continuously running Christmas special.

Most of you know the song and the story line to the TV special. Rudolph with his bright red nose, doesn't fit with the other reindeer because he is different, a misfit. Rudolph decides to set out on his own but in his journey befriends a couple of other misfits, Hermey the elf who wants to become a dentist rather than build toys and Yukon Cornelius a precious metal loving prospector.

While on the run, Rudolph and his two traveling companions encounter the abominable snow monster who wants to eat them for lunch. In an effort to avoid the abominable snow monster they find themselves adrift on a chunk of ice that comes to a stop on an island, the Island of Misfit Toys. On that island you have a...
- Train with square wheels; Charlie in the Box; Water pistol that squirts jelly.
- Boat that can't float; Airplane that can't fly; Cowboy who rides an ostrich.

These misfit toys are cared for and protected by a winged lion named King Moonracer. All they want is to be love. They desire a place to belong, a proper home, but for now they have nowhere to call home except this forgotten and secluded island, an island of misfits.

At this juncture in life David would have understood the plight of those misfits. He is one. He is an outcast on the run from a crazed king seeking to take his life out of fear, envy and jealousy.

At the beginning of his panic-stricken flight David compromises his character and waivers in his faith.
- He turns to lies and deceit to protect and sustain him rather than trusting God.
