10 God is the One who made all things, and all things are for his glory. Ultimately though, he wants to have many children share his glory.
On this earth, God does not share His glory. We exist to give Him glory, but in heaven, things will be different. The Bible teaches that we will ''share his glory.''
It might help you understand this concept if you think of the family relationship. Being a father and grandfather are the roles of a lifetime! We saw Christine Strauser on Sunday and she was holding her grandson, Levi. Naturally, we asked her how she felt being a grandmother and she just gushed! If you're a grandparent you know what I'm talking about. There's just nothing like it.
We celebrate Christmas on July 4 every summer. We've being doing that since we lived in Cincinnati. We brought that tradition with us to Indiana when we moved here in 1994. We get our tickets through our son-in-law Steve who works at Bose Law. Last year Ashely and Abbie brought their families and we always sit near the huge Howitzer's the Army brings to ''accent'' the 1812 overture. That concert always ends with a half hour of fireworks.
But, as good as the concert is, and as exciting as the fireworks are, we spent the evening just watching our grandkids. I think we spent about $160 on tickets, but it was worth every penny to watch our grandkids' reaction to everything going on around them.
This Friday we're picking up Emma and Marshall in Dayton, OH and we'll have them for two weeks - and 3,000 miles! We're gonna drive to Oklahoma to see my folks (that's 656 miles), then drive to Daytona Beach (that's 1,135 miles), then drive them home to Massillon, OH (that's 928 miles) - and then drive home (that's 339) and check into the nearest nut house!
Why do we do things like that? Our family is the object of our affection! We get our pleasure from being ...
