Genesis 1:27
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! Without moms, none of us would be here. Mother's Day is a time to celebrate mom's, whether you are one or not. We especially are grateful for you mom's, whether your motherhood is through marriage, adoption, foster care, or single-parenthood, we celebrate you! And we celebrate grandmothers and great grandmothers and great great grandmothers too today. And we celebrate spiritual moms in the house - those of you that are nurturing some in the word of God and the things of the Spirit, those that are caring for others with the love of Jesus.
We celebrate the HEART OF THE MOM today.
I grew up in a home with a mom that loved her 3 children more than anything of this world. Even when I got into my rebellious years, many, many nights my mom would be up praying for me to get home safe. I was out with my friends drinking and playing in a rock band, out until the wee hours of the morning, but my mom would be awake, up worrying and praying for us. She shared with me that she would keep looking for the headlights of the car to come down the street and then run inside before we would see her. She could finally sleep peacefully because we were home safe.
Do you know that the heart of the mom comes from the heart of God? Not only do they have love, patience, kindness, goodness, long-suffering, faithfulness, and goodness, they have supernatural powers.
I am telling you they have gifts that must be from God because they see things that no one else can see, not even their husbands. When Gerri looks into the eyes of her children, she knows when something is up. Even when she can't see their face, or they don't say a word, she knows just by the atmosphere when the kids are in the room whether there needs to be a conversation with them! I ask myself often, ''where would my kids be if they didn't have their mom?''
