Psalm 100:1
Psalm 100:1 A Psalm of Thanksgiving. Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. 3 Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.
David who wrote this Psalm understood who the Lord was. He was the One who spoke the universes into existence. He was the One who is Sovereign Lord over the earth. He is the One who is worthy of WORSHIP, so he instructs those that read this Psalm to sing, shout and serve the Lord with joy because He is the One who leads, guides, and protects His people. David understood about the relationship between the Shepherd and the sheep. David tended his father's sheep. While his brothers were being trained for war, David was being trained to be the next king. He tended the sheep, he loved the sheep, and he protected the sheep. While being a shepherd boy may not be impressive on a resume, God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. When David said, ''we are His people and the sheep of His pasture,'' he understood how much the Lord loves us, cares for us and guides us through life.
(NLT) John 10:1 ''I tell you the truth, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber! 2 But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. 5 They won't follow a stra ...
