Today we begin a new series in what is considered the most difficult section of Romans. In fact, today we are dealing with Romans 9, that deals with things like election, predestination, God's sovereignty, man's responsibility.

In Romans 9-11 Paul addresses the problem of Israel's unbelief. In other words... since we read he OT and we see them as Gods' chosen people... what do we make of most of them rejecting Jesus as Messiah? - Did God's promise fail? Did God fail? - In other words... Do we need to worry that God or His gospel will fail us? - We are calling this series Unfailing because we will see our God does not fail. His promises do not fail. Our God is unfailing. ?

Let me ask you... How big is your God? Sometimes I hear people say things like ''I could never believe in a God that ____.'' - Many times the blank is filled with something that is not even true of the one true God. - However, many times people like to DEFINE GOD according to themselves. - Instead of letting God be God and He reveals Himself in His Word, people place parameters around God and say... ''You live here.'' - Listen... if we get to define God, then we are the god in that scenario. - We need to understand the God of the Bible is big, He's free, and He will not be restricted by you and me. How big is your God? Let the Bible show us God.

Listen, we need to the big, sovereign God of the Bible. - We need a God bigger than our sin, our mistakes, our failures, and our stubborn will. We need the Big God of the Bible. It's my hope that today... you'll gain greater confidence in the big God of the Bible.

Here in Romans 9 Apostle Paul is going to anticpate some questions. After the incredible, uplifting truths of Romans 8 and how we've learned of our ASSURANCE through Christ Jesus. Paul now deals with ... well what about the Israelities? - Does their rejection of Jesus ...
