Genesis 29:15-30
Deception is the act of misleading someone to believe something is true when it is just the opposite. It is causing them to believe a lie.

The biggest lies are not told on daytime talk shows or even in political debates, but on daytime soap operas and told often. Two university researchers wanted to count the number of lies told on daytime drama. During one week of observation, they found that the shows average five lies each hour and the lies occurred most often between people with close relationships.
For the most part lies were believed and the ethical implications of all those lies were almost never considered by the person who lied.
Jacob who deceived his father to receive the family blessing is now deceived by Laban his future father-in-law. He is on the receiving end of being deceived and it is shocking and painful.
