The myth of fairy tales is that getting married means living happily ever after. But that is not reality because things can go terribly wrong in spite of our best dreams, hopes and intentions. There is no heartache quite like that of living in an unhappy marriage. It is not like a job that you can quit and walk away from.

It is a relationship in which you live day by day sharing chores, meals, and household responsibilities together. If there is conflict life in the marrriage can be very difficult and trying.

Jacob grew up in a family where his father and mother chose sides. Genesis 25:28 Isaac loved Esau (the oldest) because he ate of his wild game, but Rebekah loved Jacob (the younger). As a result, there was conflict between his father and mother.

Jacob married two sisters and he loves Rachel, but not Leah. As a result, Leah feels angry and hurt so there is conflict.

What do we do when life is frustrating? How do we react when life does not go the way we hoped it would go? Our natural reaction is to become angry and bitter. Or we can trust that God is working out his will in our life even though we do not understand what he is doing at this moment.

Reuben - God has seen :31-32 Hated - Jacob loved Rachel more than Leah (:30). She was not loved like she should have been by Jacob so God chose to bless her be giving her a child that would bring her love.
