Changed Man (9 of 14)
Series: God Walks with Us
Stephen Whitney
Genesis 32:22-30

Abram which means ''exalted father'' was changed to Abraham which means ''father of a multitude'' (17:5). A confrontation with God was necessary to change Jacob's life of fear of his brother to a life of faith in God.

PHYSICAL CONTEST :24-25 Left alone - he did not have anything left to hold on to. A man came out of nowhere and wrestled with him all night.
Theodore Epp - ''There are times when no one is able to help. Jacob's trouble was himself. There was self-will, self-purpose, self-desire and self-righteousness. Jacob's self-life had to be dealt with, while Jacob was alone.''
