Genesis 47:7-10

The phrase ''Life is hard and then you die'' first appeared on a T-shirt in 1984, but we are not sure who decided to use it. It expresses the truth that living is difficult in our sinful world.
Solomon expressed a similar thought in his journal in Ecclesiastes 2:11 I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had expended in doing it and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was nothing to be gained under the sun.
:22-23 What has a man from all the toil and striving of heart with which he toils beneath the sun? For all his days are full of sorrow.
Why is life hard? There are three reasons: 1. We live in a sinful world and therefore bad things happen. 2. We have a sinful nature and therefore make wrong choices. 3. We are affected by the sinful choices of others.
